Recently, for unknown reasons, I've been looking through my polytechnic examination results again and again.
I think I'm doing pretty good, on the account of having an accumulated GPA of more than 3 for 4 semesters (2 more semesters to go for your information). Yes I know, I'm not in the Director's Honor's List and I am not qualified for any local universities. One thing I know for sure, I've put in my darn effort into my school work for the past two and a half years.
Well, I hope I can be of an inspiration to you. I'm not the smartest person you can find. My 'O' Levels results were trashes. Went to a Junior College for one year and left. People like me have to depend on hardwork in order to get what we want. I don't wanna sound condescending but I have many close friends who refuse to put in effort in whatever they do.
It took me many years to realize the importance of putting effort in whatever I do. I was considered lucky because back in secondary school, I was seated next to a guy who would volunteer to guide you on your school work. I guess the way I saw him working so hard had somehow engraved deeply into my subconscious.
So I've actually learned to learn.
In secondary school, you can pretty much depend on yourself for your final results. However in polytechnic, you know you are screwed when you team up with a fucked-up good-for-nothing rich ass social loafer. The moment this a-hole refuses to work his ass off for the team, his group mates are literally being devoured by the ever so vicious zombies you find in 'I Am Legend'. My tactic is simple: Manage the increased workload by not bumming around and continue to do well for the final exams. I get to mark that a-hole down in the peer evaluation anyways.
One thing you should know when it comes to studies: Never to give up even though you know you screwed one module/subject. You have to be strong mentally. That's why I picked up bowling. The moment you are being affected by a gutter, you are bound to screw the whole game. Forget what you've done and move on already.
I've never given up on my studies. There were days when I did badly. It's about finding the right role-model. I so hope that you do not give up on studies as well. If you hate studying, then too bad cos' you're a Singaporean, bitch.
That motherfucking social loafer who was once in the same group as me got expelled,
